Morning comes really fast!

Nick came and crawled in bed with us the other morning very EARLY-as usual. He looked at Nate and said, "Dad, did you know morning comes really fast? I just close my eyes and go to sleep and then morning is here." Too bad he hasn't done anything about it now that he realizes how FAST it does come! It is always too soon when my SWEET little ones come and announce that they are ready for cereal. I need to remind myself of this feeling at night when I stay up at least 3 hours after they have gone to bed.
Nick also asked a few minutes later why Nate peed his armpits? Hmm...

Farm Country

We went to Farm Country with our friends and had a great time! I find that my days go by faster and are easier if we do something every day! We got lucky that there weren't very many people here the day we went. Nick is at such a funny stage right now. He loves to pose for the camera. Not just a cute smile pose, but a silly wave or smile. Now that I think about it, I can think quite a few pics of me when I was little doing the same thing! What a little stinker.

Preschool

Nick started preschool this week. He was very excited to start and loved that his teacher Mrs. Smart gave him "Smart-ies." I bought him new shoes a year ago and told him they were for school. I think they are still a little big, but there is no stopping him from wearing his new shoes. Mckay and Nat were excited for his first day too.
I used to wonder when I would hear other moms say they cried when their child started kindergarten. I think I am beginning to understand how that can happen. I won't be sad that I will only have 1 child home instead of 3- (Mckay will be in preschool.) I won't be sad that I can go grocery shopping with 1 screaming child instead of 3. I won't be very sad to go running while pushing only 30 pounds up the hill instead of 60 with another child on his bike telling me how DUMB this is! I am thinking that the one thing I will be sad about is that he is growing up and actually going to elementary school. I remember elementary school and I even remember Mrs. Vendevegate my kindergarten teacher. It is kind of sad that he will be going to school with all the big kids and be all by himself for 3 or 4 hours. Real School with the big kids. So maybe next year I will be a little sad the my little boy is growing up, but I will enjoy this year.
I will enjoy the time I have to go grocery shopping with only 2 screaming children instead of 3. And only pushing 60 pounds up the hill with no child yelling at me telling me how dumb this is! I love my children and love that Nate and I just had a Friday Night Date. Love Friday nights dates. Love babysitters too!! Love to come home to my children happily tucked in bed and asleep and I didn't do it!! I love my family, but a little free time is always welcome!

Bear Lake #2

Here are some highlights of this weekend's Lake adventures. The kids had a blast as they always do. They could spend an entire day on the beach and be happy 90% of the time. Which makes for a happy mommy too. If only we had a beach close by!

Life Savers

The other night we were at a party with the kids. They were all downstairs playing with toys and the boys kept bringing spiders, dinosaurs, and cars upstairs to show us. Natalie was bringing up baby dolls, my little ponys and kitchen things. How does that happen? It just goes to show how we were all created and our natural God given instincts. So I was feeling bad that Nat really doesn't have many girl toys. She is generally playing with cars, dinosaurs, and all the other boy toys we have. We went to Walmart today to remedy this problem. I couldn't just get her a toy without the boys getting one so I let them all pick out something small. Nick and Mckay decide on light sabers. We don't have those around as of yet because of the hitting issue, but I couldn't say no. I told Nick to call Nate and ask. Here is how the conversation went:

Nick: Dad, can I get a light saver
Dad: What does mom say
Nick: Ask Dad
Dad: Sure, life savers sound good.
Nick: K- catch ya later!

Seriously- he said that. Catch ya later?!! I promise I don't say that- he gets it from his dad. He was quick and to the point too- just like his dad! I did have to fill Nate in on the fact that we were buying light sabers not life savers. The boys have not hit each other nor anyone else as of yet, but it has only been one night. As you can see they have been threatened. I did get Nat a little pony too, but she wasn't that excited about it. She is having a grumpy week! Hopefully it is only a week.

Let us in!

This is how we spent everyday for the last two weeks. Wonderful Swim Lessons! Nick had a great time and learned a lot, and the rest of us had a nice view from above. Due to something going around in some of the local pools, we did miss one day when Nick was a little ill! OOOH!! We tried watching down by the water's edge the first day, but for obvious reasons we stayed as far away from the water the rest of the two weeks. Needless to say, we won't do swim lessons again until Mckay turns 3 and can join the fun in the water.

I am Lion hear me ROAR!

Nat came to me the other day, pulled me to the closet, and pointed to this costume! She didn't just want to play with it, but wanted it on. She wore it for 30 minutes and loved every minute of it. She didn't even mind the massive amounts of fur on her chubby little face. She roared and roared and her brothers loved it too. Can't wait for Halloween. I always wanted to have a little Princess, but maybe a lion would be more fun.

The Tramp!

We finally splurged and bought a trampoline! I have been wanting to get one for a long time and Nate came home with it last weekend. SURPRISE! He couldn't just go get the Walmart special either, it had to be this "cool" one he saw in someone's backyard. It is fun and the kids are loving it. We have used the neighbors trampoline almost everyday this summer, so the more they come use ours now, the better I feel about all the use their's got! Don't worry, yesterday, Nick still went ant used the neighbors! I guess some habits are hard to break. I took these pictures before the net was up- you can see Mckay wrapped up in it being a MONSTER!

Bee Sting #7

Yep! It's true. It just happened. Bee sting # 7 for the month! Poor Mckay. After the crying stopped, I told him we had to take a picture. He asked if he could do his scary face! Maybe he should pull that more when he is around the bees!

Sleepy Nat!

Sorry about the background noise! I was on the phone when I realized Nat was sleeping instead of eating lunch!

Bee's Love Me!

The other day Mckay and Nick were out playing when I heard somone screaming. My front door swings open with my neighbor freaking out, holding Mckay in her arms, and yelling for me. I thought for sure we were headed to the hospital this time. She quickly yelled "is he allergic to bees?" 'Thankfully' he had been stung just 2 days before that so I knew we were okay as my heart was recovering from the fear that someone was dead!
Do some of us attract bee's more than others? I don't know the answer to this, but my little Mckay would have to say "yes." He has been stung 6 times in the past 3 weeks. WEIRD! 3 at one time, 2 today, and 1 three weeks ago. Either he thinks the bees are fun to play with like other bugs(ie. spiders!), or he just has good smelling blood. Either way, I hope he doesn't continue this pattern much longer!

Build, Play, Laugh

We went to the children's museum with my beautiful sister and Houston! The kids love it there. Mckay discovered some new building toys, Nick some new magnetix, and Natalie enjoyed a little game of peek-a-boo! We also found a little "crack" from time to time.
