Crying makes snot come!

Natalie just said to me " Mom, I'm not going to cry ever again. Never, ever! Because it makes snot come. Are you so happy mom?!" Yes Natalie, I am so happy!

Kite Flying

Yesterday was a great kite flying day! We are once again loving this little tease of what is to come! I looked out and there were about 10 kites I could see from my window. I had to take a picture! Too bad the grass isn't green to go with the warm sun, but soon enough it will be! A neighbor was selling kites for 50 cents- the kids all had to have one.

Nick lost his first tooth!

Nick was brushing his teeth the other day and out popped his first little tooth! He was so excited to finally lose a tooth. He took it everywhere with him- to school to show his teacher, all of his friends, and finally tucked it safely away under his pillow. The tooth fairy was very generous with this first tooth and brought 5 gold dollars and a little stuffed animal! I think the tooth fairy has a difficult time figuring out how much each child should receive. Cousins receive one amount and friends another and Nick knew how much each one got!

Words of Wisdom

Last night we had Nate's Grandparents over for "Thanksgiving" dinner. It was really fun to have them here. The kids were so polite during dinner- just sat and actually ate and listened. That does not happen at our too often- I am thinking they need to come more often. Grandpa told us all about growing up in Australia and how part of the family came to the US during WWII.
After dinner, Grandma shared her favorite scripture with us. It was Ecclesiastics 3:1-8. It talks about there being a time and a season for all things. Grandpa talked about how when you are young, time seems to fly by so fast. It is important to let the little ones, be little and enjoy there childhood. Soon it will be gone. He told Nate and I to enjoy this time we have with the kids being little and having them in our home. Soon they will be gone and it will be just us. He said how time seems to be moving so slow now that they are older. I was so touched by his words and the reminder to enjoy my life right. It isn't always easy to enjoy 3 little ones day after day, but I know this time will pass and I will miss it!
I am grateful we had the chance to have them out and it made me wish we lived closer to my grandparents and could have them in our lives more.
Hopefully grandma and grandpa Delahunty will come out again and share more words of wisdom with us.

More Snow

We have been having so much fun these last few days with the sunny- Utah warm weather (in the 50's!) When Mckay looked outside this morning and was assaulted by snow on the ground, he started to cry! First meltdown of the day at 7 am! Poor thing thinks we will never have sun again.
I love the excitement on his face in this picture as he is running down to the ocean for the first time when we were in Newport. Ohhh to live in sunny California!

Lego Creations

I just had to post a few pics of Nick's recent lego creations! I have to say that I am very grateful for legos. Nick and Mckay could spend hours just building and creating. When Andrew comes to play they come up with some pretty cool things! If only I could figure out a way to not have tiny little peices on the floor all the time- not a great thing when I vacuum!

Disneyland 09

I am finally getting to posting pics from our trip to Disneyland. We went with our friends, the Zundels, and had so much fun. We stayed at the Grand Californian and had adjoining rooms. The kids got to play with each other almost every minute of every day and had so much fun. We also got to meet up with cousins and our friends the Smiths. It was so fun to see Zoe and Ayden again and spend time with Ry and Whitney and the kids.
We had great weather for the first part of the trip, and then it rained for the last two days at Disney. We ran around with our ponchos, but still got pretty wet. It was very nice to have our hotel right at the park so we could go back and change!
Nick was a little nervous about all of the big rides before we went and told us he was not going on them- but Mckay couldn't wait! So the first time on Space Mountain, Nick went with Nate, and Mckay and Will went together! What brave little kids. Mckay couldn't stop talking about Space Mountain the rest of the trip and wanted to go on it over and over! We let the kids earn money to have to spend while on the trip. Natalie got a new princess nightgown, Mckay picked out guns, and Nick go legos! One day while Mckay was playing with his guns, he asked Nick, "why did you get legos? Legos are so dumb and guns are so cool!" It was so funny. He was totally obsessed with guns the whole time. Several princesses were shot and all the pirates were definately wounded! Nick was obsessed with the legos though too. One day when it was raining, he just wanted to sit in the hotel and play legos, rather than go out and play!
Natalie loved the princesses and fairys.
We had a great time! Thanks Zundels for all the fun and to Nancy for enjoying the chocolate as much as I do (mmm tigger tails! I love those things)!

Notice the nice wet street!
